  Cute home on the canal that is really well equipped.
  Kayaks with life jackets for all size people, beach stuff, laundry, kitchen equipment, a Keurig, this place has it all. It is well described and fairly priced. It is more updated than many of the rentals at this price point and is clearly setup for families.

  This was our first rental with Shore Details, and we were not disappointed! From reservations to check out, the process was smooth and easy. The house was beautiful, immaculate, and incredibly well-appointed. We loved the secure, lockable garage filled with bikes and kayaks. The canal out back was perfect for fishing and kayaking in the evenings, and was an easy paddle out to the sound for spectacular sunsets. The covered deck was a relaxing, sheltered place to have dinner and watch the storms we had. We loved everything about Reel Fun Cottage, and will be back again next June!

  We had a great week at the Reel Fun Cottage! The house was clean, nicely decorated, and the kitchen was well equipped (except for lack of crab-crackers). The dock was perfect for our boat and was a great place to sit at night and look at the stars. We really enjoyed the kayaks and we used the "beach gear included" program to get bikes for cruising around the neighborhood. The neighborhood is friendly and quiet-great location for dogs and kids. We had a very minor maintenance issue and it was taken care of right away. Everything about our experience with Shore Details and the Reel Fun Cottage was great!

  We had a very nice stay with our kids. Having the extra half bath in the master bedroom was helpful. Downstairs shower worked great for after swim rinse off and as an extra shower. Clothes line outside shower was a nice convenience.
  We loved our early morning paddles into the Sound and it was nice to have a quiet calm water launch in windier days. Easy paddle to open water.
  Hatteras beach is beautiful with great access, shower, and restroom facilities. But it is a bit of a drive. Our kids bikes everywhere and roads has safe bike lanes.
  We love the Hatteras house but smaller, reasonably priced houses on waterfront are hard to come by. This one fit the bill. Nice enough, well outfitted kitchen worked for our needs.

  We had a good week. The house is very well maintained. It was very clean but I think that has very little to do with the management company but more to do with the quality of the owners of this home. The neighbors said the owners have friends that use the house and I think this house reflects that as opposed to a full time rental. When we arrived, the grass was at least a foot tall. I went to the management company and made them aware. They told us they were not responsible for cutting the grass and would call the owner. I don't know if they did or not but the grass never got cut but I didn't feel like battling that on my vacation. The canal was nice and our kids swam in it every day. The two kayaks that came with the house were in very good shape. It would have been nice to have a grill. There was one there but it was full of mold - like really full. The AC is ice cold which was great since we were there during a particularly muggy/rainy week.The porch is very nice to sit on. I would have seating for four guests though. Outdoor shower was really nice and it was nice to be able to get back into the house without going outside. The management company should have cleaned up the cigarette butts from the previous guest. We did it for them. All in all, cute house close to everything.

  All of our first impression was amazing! When you walk into the house from the deck, you have a huge open living area that screams beach life and you instantly step into your vacation experience. The house was immaculate. The view from the deck to the sound is so beautiful and inspires you to be outside and enjoy the amazing island! The bedrooms and bathrooms are perfectly designed with their own personalities, but still in the beach genre. The beds are very comfortable. There are multiple grocery stores close by so we stocked up so that we could eat at home most meals (the kitchen is stocked with all of the appliances, tools, etc. that you can possibly need). We rented bicycles and beach chairs from the complimentary service offered with this rental and they were waiting for us at the street side of the house. Two of the bikes weren't in top condition; however, we contacted the company right away and within VERY short order, they had new bikes delivered that worked perfectly! We rode bikes around the neighborhood and it is all very beautiful and well maintained - makes us want to buy a property ourselves! When we were there, a lot of the businesses were not open yet for the season and the weather was pretty cold, so initially we were concerned that we wouldn't have enough to do for the week. That absolutely was NOT the case! We stayed busy enjoying the island the entire time! We went charter fishing, beach fishing, shell collecting, checked out the lighthouse, hiking (there are 3 beautiful and educational trails very close to the house), out to dinners and had wonderful food and service, shopping, Ghosts of the Lost Colony in Roanoke (the play wasn't on yet, but we got to do the walk and learn about the history and it was awesome, so the play must be truly incredible!), Pea Island - walked the trail and learned about the birds, watched movies and played games (house is stocked), and still didn’t do everything that we wanted. DEFINITE DO-OVER!!!!!!!!!!
