With ocean and sound views, VIRGINIA DARE has all the necessities for a great vacation. The first floor boasts a game room with a pool table where everyone can have hours of fun, bedroom with two sets of bunks, a half bath, wine and bar refrigerators, and the entrance to the private heated (optional) pool and sun deck.

The second floor has three ocean-side bedrooms with sliding-glass doors to large east and south decks and bubbly six-person hot tub. The first bedroom has two twins, the second one a queen. The third bedroom is a master suite with a king and private bath. A second full bath and laundry room are located on this level along with a quiet area with desk for one who needs to keep in touch with business while away.

Dine in the third-level, ocean view, great room with tall ceilings, 42' flat screen TV, south and east decks, half bath, wet bar with second full size refrigerator with second icemaker, breakfast bar, chef-appointed kitchen, and seating for 16. Located off the comfortably and creatively furnished great room is a fifth, ocean view, master bedroom with a king, private bath and deck access.

Before or after the hectic pace of the summer, take advantage of the spring and fall months. The water temperatures are warm and rates are low. September and October are some the prettiest months on the Outer Banks with a slower pace.

  We enjoyed our time at VA DARE - 2 families for a week could get touchy but plenty of room for everyone to have their space. The proximity to the beach access boardwalk was key - we had lots of kids back and forth to the house - couldn't have done this if we were 6 or 7 houses down from the access. Few minor maintenance items that weren't a concern for our stay were passed along as we left to a great management team. 2 things to bring - bug spray/citronella- mosquitoes were brutal & more bath towels, one set for the week led to a lot of laundry. If I were to make any suggestions it would be better mattresses in at LEAST the 2K/1Q rooms, and the sectional could really use replacing - plywood under the cushions made it very uncomfortable if you sat more than a few minutes.Pool & hot tub were great with kids, an umbrella by the pool (whether you bring or rent one) would be amazing.Overall a great stay - would definitely visit again.

  Unfortunately this year staying at Virginia Dare we were evacuated only 4 days into our stay. But, that being said, this was our second year there. The house has an unbelievable location. Right across from the beach. Because of this, you have a great pool to enjoy out back. The kitchen is fully stocked and we love the second refrigerator that we use for all the water, wine, beer. The layout is great and it's super safe for families with little kiddos. Now the downside. We noticed these things last year but thought perhaps they would have been updated/changed. The beds in the two suites are in need of replacing quite badly. The couch upstairs has also seen much better days. Lastly, we love love the pool area but there is zero shade. You are either in the pool or baking in the sun. It was hard to have our baby out there bc we had no shade to sit under. The chairs are a plenty however they are super uncomfortable. I believe they are are meant to have cushions. They are beautiful and we love there is plenty to accommodate our whole family but not comfortable. We love this house though. Unfortunately it isn't available when we need next year.

  Property: has everything you could possibly need to enjoy your vacay. everyone in our crew found beds comfy. owner has added fabulous touches from a trashcan out at the pool, to luggage stands in each bedroom, to wooden dow rods in the sliding doors for extra security, to gates on the decks for your furry friends. Right across the street from public access to beach. pool is secured well to keep little people safe. 2 blocks from foodlion and fresh seafood. property is clean and well equipped. the decks need a little tlc. pool liner is a little worn. there is some regular beach wear and tear. The property itself is a great location, clean and is the first we have rebooked in many years of vacationing on NC coast.
  Realty Co.: by far hands down best company I've ever rented from 50% of the reason we rebooked for 2020. easy to work with, responsive, organized, efficient...I cannot say enough good things.
  only thing this house is missing is a screen porch an a vaccum. Looking forward to 2020.

  Virginia Dear was a great house for our family week at the beach, including four human kids and two fur kids. House worked perfectly for all of us. Couple of minor things were addressed by the office quickly, they were very responsive. The entry level bedroom includes two sets of bunks with a half bath on that floor, with the game room. Second floor has a room with two twins and a room with a queen that share a full bath. Third bedroom on that floor includes a king and on suite bath. All rooms on that floor have sliding glass doors onto covered deck facing ocean. Top floor has kitchen, living room, and king with on suite. Access to top deck that faces ocean or back towards sound side. Pretty sunsets from up
  there. Stairs from ground level provide access to each deck level, but there are gates to prohibit dogs or small children from going up and down stairs. Pool is above ground with full deck around it. Provide a great mid-day break for all, before going back down to the beach. Beach area in that particular area is not wide, so high tide comes in pretty close to the dune. But you can walk a few hundred yards in either direction to spread out a bit more. There is a direct walkway across from the drive to the beach or you can walk several hundred yards down in either direction for additional access.
  
  Overall great location with lots of amenities. We would definitely return to this house!

  House is located directly across the street from the beach, just steps away. Has all the amenities a family would need for a fabulous vacation. Shore Details is there in a timely manner should you encounter any troubles with the house. They are friendly and extremely accommodating.   This was a great location with a 2 minute walk to the beach. Very clean and it had all of the things needed to make a pleasant stay. The only opportunity was the first night we were there the air conditioner was not working for the top floor. It is hot in July. The property management company must have made a note of this before we got there as mid day the 2nd day HVAC repairman were working on it. It took the rest of the day to cool off but after that it was fine.

  This house was great! We really enjoyed staying here. We had 10 people vacationing together and had plenty of space to accommodate us all. The house was clean and well furnished. The kitchen was very well stocked and had extras like 2 coffee pots, blenders and a crock pot. The decks had nice views and plenty of seating. Beach access was an easy minute walk right across the street. Shore Details was a great company to work with and includes beach gear with this rental, which was great not having to pack our own chairs and boogie boards. Linens were also included which is a huge plus. Overall, we were very happy with this rental and would recommend it to anyone considering an Outer Banks vacation.

  This was our fourth time renting the Virginia Dare and as usual we had a blast! The kitchen is well-equipped making meal preparation easy as well as a separate bar area with full size fridge. The home is close to the beach with ocean views and it is nicely decorated too! The only downside was the beds were uncomfortable and there was no DVD player but other than that we had a wonderful time and have booked the home again next year! Thank you!
